Bio

John holds an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and is currently based in the Philadelphia and NYC region, while continuing to teach at Salisbury University on the Maryland Eastern Shore.

John’s design work includes: Fearless at Opera Delaware, Kiss Me Kate at Quintessence Theatre,  Anything Goes, Bring It On, Hair, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and In the Heights for MSMT; Blithe Spirit for Delaware Theatre Company; The Drowsy Chaperone and How I Learned to Drive for Villanova University; Hair, King Hedley, and Satellites at Swine Palace in Baton Rouge; and Bat Boy the Musical and Kit Marlowe for the Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C.

He also works with Tobin Ost on many productions, including Disney’s Tony-nominated Broadway production of Newsies, Maurice Hines’s Off-Broadway production of Tappin’ Thru Life, and Barry Manilow's Harmony at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta and the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

John’s extensive work also includes assisting Erhard Rom on productions for many national opera companies, including Lucia di Lammermoor at San Francisco Opera, Sweeney Todd at Wolftrap Opera, and The Wreckers at The Bard Festival.

John's work has not always always been focused on Theatre and Opera. He also worked with Wally Coberg of Coberg Designs for many years designing themed restaurant renovations, and shows at Busch Gardens Tampa and Hershey Park.
